Speech and Language Faculty Official OpeningFriday 18th February 2011 Our Faculty was officially opened at 10.30am by Councillor Mike Longden during a whole school assembly, attended by representatives from the Local Authority, the school governors and many colleagues from other local schools. The School Council showed our guests around the new facility while refreshments were served in our new Community Room. A quote from our Head, Margaret Stirling: “The local authority has supported Bennerley Fields in their successful bid for specialist status. We appreciate the investment the authority has made and are committed to honouring this by providing an outstanding resource for Derbyshire children.” Below is a photograph showing the completed Speech and Language Faculty extension to the school. Flag Hoisting CeremonyFriday 18th February 2011 In the afternoon our new school flag was hoisted by our Chair of Governors Glennice Birkin. The parents had been invited to the ceremony and to visit our new Speech and Language Faculty so they, the children and staff all gathered outside to watch!
