Achievement

The school is divided into three departments: The Early Years which includes the assessment nursery and infants, the Junior School, Middle School and the Senior School. Pupils assessed in the nursery subsequently attend a variety of schools.

The progress of all pupils is tracked in all subject areas and recorded in small steps. This has shown that pupils make very good progress in all stages of the school in most subject areas and that achievement compares very favorably with like schools nationally.

Pupils are proud of their achievements and show increasing self esteem and confidence which are celebrated with certificates at special assemblies.

Strengths of the School

Assessment is excellent throughout the school. It informs teachers planning which results in raised attainment.

At Bennerley Fields School pupils are able to achieve high standards in personal and social development and in their all-round education. Teaching is based on a precise understanding of pupils needs and results in good or very good progress.

Speaking and Listening is strong as demonstrated by year on year evaluations. Emphasis is given to developing personal, social and independence skills.

The Foundation stage moderator praised the outstanding standards within the Early Years department.

In the senior part of the school there is more specialist teaching with specialist Design and Technology and Art and Design. Pupils work has been displayed in OCR National Art Exhibition celebrating achievement. A specialist music teacher is employed on a part-time basis.
